Alberta Farm Fuel Benefit
Alberta Agriculture and Irrigation
Verbatim: eligible producers "receive a 9-cent-per-litre provincial fuel tax exemption on the purchase of dyed gasoline and diesel," plus a full exemption on propane and aviation fuel used for farming.
The catch: It is a tax exemption, not a payment: the money only exists if you buy fuel, and it arrives as a lower price on dyed product rather than as a cheque. The eligibility floor has a carve-out worth knowing about - a producer with $5,000 to $9,999 of production still qualifies if their only other significant income is CPP or OAS, which is aimed squarely at retired small producers. A carbon-levy exemption is widely attributed to this program in search results, is not on the official page, and is not recorded here.
