Verbatim: "Unvalidated slot or vlt tickets that are more than thirty (30) days old are expired." The machine will not pay it - but AGLC still will. Verbatim: "Following expiry, players can still make a request for payment from AGLC by submitting the following: Completed expired ticket form / Original ticket(s)," mailed to AGLC Gaming Revenue (Finance) in St. Albert. A sibling of the two unclaimed-property rows, with one advantage over both: nobody has to search a registry to find out they are owed, because they are holding the evidence in a drawer.

The catch: You mail the original ticket, not a copy, so the only evidence you hold leaves your hands in the post - photograph both sides first. AGLC states the claim "may take up to two weeks to process once received." The page gives the thirty-day validation expiry but says nothing about an outer deadline on the claim itself, and that silence is not the same as no limit: for an old ticket, settle it with Customer Care on 1-800-742-7818 before mailing anything. No wager is required to claim, and none is possible - the ticket is expired for play.
