New Brunswick Property Tax Allowance
New Brunswick Department of Social Development
A reduction of the provincial property tax bill on an owner-occupied principal residence for low-income households.
The catch: It is applied against the tax bill rather than paid out, so it is worth nothing to a renter and nothing beyond the tax owed. The allowance is claimed per year and can be claimed for a limited number of eligible years, so a household that qualified for several years and never claimed cannot recover all of them.
