British Columbia Unclaimed Property Society
A free search of unclaimed money held in British Columbia - dormant credit union accounts, court funds, unclaimed wages, insurance proceeds, estates and pension amounts - run by the British Columbia Unclaimed Property Society.
The catch: A name match is the beginning of a claim, not the end of one: proving you are the person named, or have authority over their estate, is the actual work. The register is not the Bank of Canada's, which holds federally regulated bank balances - a thorough search means both, and neither one tells you about the other. The Society charges nothing, so anybody asking for a fee to search on your behalf is selling you a free service.
