Alabama's low-cost comprehensive health coverage for children, covering doctor visits, hospital care, prescriptions, dental and vision.
The catch: Low-cost rather than free above a point: which income band a family falls into decides whether premiums and copays apply at all. A child already covered by other insurance is not eligible, so dropping existing coverage to qualify is a decision with a gap in it. Residency, age, citizenship or eligible-status and institutional-status rules all apply.
