A free state search for money owed to you and never delivered - dormant accounts, uncashed payroll and utility deposits, insurance proceeds and similar.
The catch: As with every unclaimed-property register, a name match is the start of a claim and not the end: identity, address history and, for an inherited claim, authority over the estate all have to be proved. The public search is a JavaScript application with no readable terms in front of it, so the documentation requirements are not visible until you are in the process. The state charges nothing.
