Georgia Quick Start - customised workforce training, free

Technical College System of Georgia

The oldest and best-known state workforce training programme in the United States, running since 1967 and delivered by the Technical College System of Georgia. It designs and delivers job-specific training for a company - in a classroom, in a mobile lab or on the plant floor - at no charge, and treats the company's processes as confidential.

The catch: It is an incentive for job creation, not a training service you can buy into: TCSG describes it as free "to qualified new, expanding and existing businesses" and the Department of Economic Development as being "at no cost to eligible job-creating businesses", and neither publishes what qualifies. Quick Start's own website publishes no eligibility terms at all - the entire test on its site is an invitation to email and ask. For a small business with no expansion and no new hires, the realistic answer is no.
