Federal Bonding Program in Georgia - a free $5,000 fidelity bond
Georgia Department of Labor
A no-cost fidelity bond covering an employer against theft, forgery, larceny and embezzlement for the first six months of employing someone whose background makes them hard to place: people with convictions, people in recovery, people with poor credit or a bankruptcy, people leaving public assistance, young people with no work history. The Georgia Department of Labor issues it as the certified local agency.
The catch: The thing to know is how little there is to do: no application from the job seeker, no paperwork burden on the employer, no deductible if the employer files a claim, and the bond self-terminates after six months with nothing to cancel. It is cover, not cash, and it only exists for the first six months - after that the employee is an ordinary employee. It runs through Georgia Department of Labor career centres rather than online.
