Georgia's disaster payment to farmers, ranchers and foresters in eligible counties for losses Hurricane Helene caused and no existing USDA programme covers: timber, on-farm infrastructure, poultry production cycles, beef and dairy conception rates, milk and dairy feed, pecans, blueberries, citrus, nursery crops, plasticulture and bare-ground practices.

The catch: The application period has closed and applications are being reviewed. Nothing is settled yet: the Department of Agriculture states that applicants will be told if they are eligible and asked to sign an agreement with an award amount, that "payment amounts will not be finalized until all applications reach final review", and that the schedule for distributing payments will be announced later.
