Federal dental coverage for eligible residents without access to dental insurance. In Alberta it sits in front of the Alberta Adult Health Benefit rather than beside it: where a service is covered by both, the claim goes to the CDCP first and AAHB covers what is left.

The catch: Applications for the 2026-2027 benefit period are open - verbatim from the plan's own page on 16 August 2026. The deadline that has passed was a renewal, not an application: "If you had coverage for the 2025-2026 benefit period and did not renew by June 1, 2026, click on the link below to re-apply, however you will have a gap in coverage." Re-applying works and does not backfill the gap, so the cost of having missed the renewal is the uninsured months in between, not the coverage itself.
