Utilities Consumer Advocate
A provincial body that mediates disputes between Albertans and their electricity or natural gas retailer at no charge, runs free public education webinars, and offers interpreter services for non-English speaking Albertans calling the Mediation Team.
The catch: It does not pay you anything. The UCA mediates, informs and advocates - it does not cover arrears, it is not an emergency fund, and it cannot stop a disconnection by itself. It is in the catalog for the same reason the other action rows are: when the money is going the wrong way, this is the free lever, and the site currently offers nothing else in a category where the failure mode is losing heat.
