The catch: Subject to available funding, first come first served - this is a capped pot, not an entitlement. The home must predate 1989, must not already have a valve, and the address must not have had the subsidy before. Installation must be by a professional plumber using an approved valve model, with a City inspection.

Clean Energy Improvement Program (Calgary) - financing, not a rebate

The City of Calgary

Financing of up to 100% of an approved clean energy retrofit, capped at $50,000, repaid with interest through your property tax bill over up to 20 years. The obligation stays with the property when you sell.

The catch: This is a loan at an estimated 5.66–5.75% fixed, not a grant and not a rebate. It is listed here only so it stops being mistaken for one: the money is repaid, with interest, on your tax bill.
